Regional & State Conference Procedure

Project content is prejudged prior to regional and state competitions. Project presentations are judged at regional and state competitions.

THIS IS A ARIZONA ONLY EVENT.  WINNERS AT THE STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE DO NOT COMPETE IN THIS EVENT AT THE NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE.

IMPORTANT IMFORMATION REGARDING EVENT:

For a variety of technical and non-technical reasons, both of these Arizona-only competitions were changed for the upcoming State Leadership Conference as follows:

Competitors are no longer required to capture images in Camera RAW. As a result, competitors are no longer required to submit both RAW and JPEG files; instead, only final edited/processed JPEG files need to be submitted for pre-judging.

Competitors are not required to submit the original unedited/nonprocessed image files for prejudging; however, the original unedited/nonprocessed image files should be used for the presentation portion of each competition to demonstrate the effective use of any image editing/processing tools used.

For both events, the emphasis of the pre-judged portion of the competition will be on essential camera functions, photographic compositional techniques, and image editing and postprocessing.

The following two items are not changes to either event, but, they are being shared today as a reminder. The following two requirements will be fully enforced at the SLC:

Competitors must submit signed and dated model release forms for all subjects photographed for the Digital Photography: Professional Business Portraits and Digital Photography: Commercial Photography Portfolio competitions. All minors photographed for either competition must have their signed and dated model release forms co-signed by a parent or guardian. PHOTOGRAPHS OF ANY INDIVIDUALS FOR WHOM A SIGNED MODEL RELEASE FORM HAS NOT BEEN SUBMITTED WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

Individual names of any and all photographic subjects must not appear anywhere within any submitted photograph. PHOTOGRAPHS WHEREIN SUBJECTS ARE IDENTIFIED BY NAME WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
